A friend of mine was unfortunately killed in a car accident recently, and her brother said that she did not leave behind a will or anything. Since she was single and had no kids, now there's some family squabbling over her assets.
That got me thinking... What is everyone's plans for their crypto assets in the event of death? Do I need to put that in a will or just give my keys to my partner? Is there inheritance tax on crypto if I gave them to a family member? Just die and let the crypto die with me (lol. You're welcome for the burn)?
I'm located in Canada but have some family members in the states, if that matters.
Thank you!
