What are your thoughts on decentralized messaging apps?

Something I see a lot is this goal of anonymous communication, probably because of the anxiety that one’s privacy might be i. There are a lot of platforms out there already like Session, Sylo, and others. I also came across this article about a new decentralized messaging platform, so these platforms are literally everywhere no. But honestly I don’t think this decentralized shit can help with anything.

I completely understand that there are a lot of people who value privacy and would want a little more anonymity than usual, but I don’t think decentralizing everything is practical for most people.
