So there’s been a few ways so far:
The introduction of RCPs and it’s incentive to stay engaged with a community in return for rewards.
Reddit Avatar collectibles
But what else can be done?
We have seen recently that for example with Moons, there’s approximately 200,000 vault owners. That’s a measly portion out of the 6 million subscriber base.
Here’s some other things that might get more people to create vaults for their Reddit accounts:
A metaverse game where you can use your RCPs or avatars in a unique way. Imagine club Penguin where your RCP subreddits have a virtual lobby with metaverse representations such as a literal discussion corner, a meme station etc.
Regular Reddit giveaways of blockchain assets. With the possibility of things like Reddit gold going blockchain, there could be a way to push general Reddit rewards and encourage vault opening.
UX suggestion: adding more information about vaults when opening the Reddit app. Perhaps the main issue is that people don’t know about vaults rather than not having a persuasive reason to use them. The vault button feels hidden in the app and seems to be overlooked quite a bit.
A marketplace/exchange for obvious reasons can be a compelling reason as well.
A desktop version of the vault would also be useful, I don’t think that exists right now but please correct me if they do.
A way to link an existing hardware wallet to your profile for added security.
What else you think could be good ways to get more vaults open?
