What happened with “The Flippening”? Do you think Ethereum will never surpass Bitcoin for number #1 spot?

I know, Bitcoin is king. But I remember back a few years ago there was plenty of people talking about “The Flippening”, and there was plenty of hype surrounding it. It is pretty established that Bitcoin and Ethereum are the “blue chips” of crypto, and most people don’t really mind which is 1 and which is 2. Even though Bitcoin has clearly always been numer 1. However, do you think Bitcoin will always remain number #1?

For those who don’t know, “The Flippening” refers to the hypothetical situation in which ETH surpasses BTC in terms of market cap to become the top cryptocurrency. There were plenty of rumors before Ethereum executed its Merge that it could overcome BTC for number 1 spot. But as we all know Bitcoin didn’t show signs of slowing down its dominance.

Some say that with Ethereum “Triple Halving” it is possible to overcome BTC. Moreover, Ethereum’s ecosystem supports a wide range of decentralized applications, making it a preferred platform for developers in the space. However, Bitcoin remains on top thanks to its security, recognition and long established network.

There was a time when we were pretty close for The Flippening to occur, but we all know Bitcoin is still number 1. Will it always be like this? I guess time will tell as the crypto landscape continues to evolve, with Ethereum fighting for the top spot. What are your thoughts?
