The chang hardfork is just around the corner to bring fully decentralised liquid democracy onchain governance to Cardano. The current proposal is 1ada=1vote with no algorand style locking mechanism, and no time-based rewards like DOT.
There are other methods ETH which has has essentially no governance mechanism.
Solana has a similar 1sol=1vote but the voting is done off chain.
