A coin:

A coin has it’s very on blockchain. Like ETH, polkadot, Cardano, Dogecoin, harmony one and many more. There can be tokens in their Eco systems. For instance Ethereum has many tokens. US DT is one of them as it is on the Ethereum Blockchain. While coin has its very own Blockchain and tokens do not.

A token:

As mentioned above tokens do not have a Blockchain of their own. They are working within an ecosystem. Ethereum should have the most token in the ecosystem as it is one of the most congested and heavily used Blockchain.
