What is usefulness of crypto?

Here's what I know it can do:

-act as a item that holds value

-something with contracts to securely manage itself like in a dex and staking.

-NFTs, the coolest thing so far is the reddit skin things we can buy and own ourselves in limited quantity. So it can act as a unique digital item that no one else can have

I've have some crypto in truswallet since 2021. It's been pretty boring, not many cool uses that i know of have come out of it, is there anything else it can do?

I was hoping it would become a non-government controlled standard currency, but there's so many regulations it feels like the government doesn't want us to test out that freedom.

Is there anything else crypto can do oe will be able to do? It feels like if I invest into it it would all be speculation. Are we going to have NFTs for like deeds to houses in real life? What is the point of this right now and for the future?
