Facebook/Meta has been stealing the headlines lately but in my mind, it makes much more sense for the strong FinTech players to make the shift to Web 3.
Obviously companies like Stripe and Plaid are centralized, but we would be kidding ourselves if we didn't believe that these companies with their resources and expertise could play a major role in onboarding the next billion users into crypto/DeFi.
What type of infrastructure or services do you think could be built by these types of companies that would push the industry forward and be accepted by the industry?
For example, Robinhood has been painfully slow in rolling on their new digital wallet. If our wallets will really be used as our digital identity one day, perhaps off-the-shelf infrastructure/tooling would be useful for the web 2.0/fintech companies that want to offer crypto services to their customers and pull them down the rabbit hole.
Stripe is hiring aggressively for a new web3 team so it had me thinking about how this could take shape.
