What would it look like from a tax perspective if I moved my ethereum from coinbase to a hard wallet?

So I bought ethereum at many price points (as most people do) ranging between $1500-$3000 on coinbase. Then I transferred it to a hard wallet when the price fell to around $1600.

I’m concerned that the transfer looks like a taxable event which I would probably be at a net loss. What’s more concerning is that if I sell ethereum now from the hard wallet will it be taxable from the $1600 point? How would I show the traceability in my tax forms?
