I was wondering if there was a technical reason why the halving happens the way it happens and why it doesn't "slope down" more smoothly for a lack of a better term. Did Satoshi ever talk much about the halving ? Was there anything in real life that inspired the halving? I'm trying to understand Bitcoin on a more technical and fundamental level. Basically why the Bitcoin halving is a thing and why it happens.
To pad this out on the next halving what do you think will happen and how long will the halving continue to have an oversized impact on price action?
