I recently downloaded all top posts and comments from various crypto-related subreddits, to look at coin mentions (see my recent post here). But now I have all this data I decided to look at how the top posts are distributed in time by subreddit. I've sorted them by how long they have existed, and plotted the data for the top 1000 posts.
Some more details:
-A post is represented by a Gaussian of 20 days width centred on its submission date. All these Gaussians are then summed and plotted in a mix of logarithmic+offset scaling to highlight the lowest values a bit better
-Sometimes the date of creation was hard to ascertain (e.g. the stellar subreddit used to be about a game before becoming the crypto-related subreddit), so I have done my best to base it on whitepapers/web snapshots for these few cases
Let me know what you find most interesting!
