I did my little research and find this article from Arjun Bupthani, Connext co-founder: The Interoperability Trilemma

He claims that trustless bridges are natively verified (Ethereum L2, Cosmos IBC) and locally verified (Connext, Hop). While 3rd party verified is not/less trustless, most bridges are in this category
I'm not a smart human, but I guess 3rd party verified bridges are also trustless when it has sufficient decentralization, right?
As example thorchain with its hundreds of validators may more trustless than bridge X with only tens of validators
