Why does a finite amount of Bitcoin matter for the value of Bitcoin?

Hi,

I am new to Bitcoin so I am trying to learn. I see a lot of people bring up that only a certain amount of Bitcoin will exist as a huge feature regarding Bitcoins’ value. There is also a finite amount of VHS copies of the Matrix in the world, but that doesn’t really add any value to them in my eyes. It would be the demand, like a commodity or bubble like tulip mania, that drives up the price. Also, can’t Bitcoin be infinitely divided into smaller satoshi? Strictly from a value perspective, what am I missing about a finite amount of Bitcoin mattering for the value of it? And does the cap matter if Bitcoin can be divided infinitely into smaller units?

Sorry if this is elementary and stupid questions. Just trying to understand it.
