Why not Peter Todd?

Peter Todd, a well-known Bitcoin developer and cryptographer, isn’t Satoshi Nakamoto for a few reasons, even though some people have speculated. Here’s a few key points:

1. Peter Todd’s timeline: Todd got involved in the Bitcoin community around 2011, which is after Satoshi had already disappeared (Satoshi stopped being active in 2010). Todd himself has confirmed this timeline and never claimed to be involved in creating Bitcoin. 2. Different communication styles: Satoshi’s writing style and approach to Bitcoin’s design is different from Todd’s. Satoshi was really focused on decentralization, while Todd has been more involved in discussions about improving Bitcoin’s privacy and scalability, but from a more pragmatic standpoint. 3. Public statements: Todd has always denied being Satoshi and said that it wouldn’t make sense for him to hide his identity if he was, considering how open he’s been in the Bitcoin world. 4. Technical focus: While both are skilled in cryptography, Todd’s work has mainly focused on specific improvements to Bitcoin, like time-stamping services and fixing transaction malleability, rather than creating the network itself. 

These factors, along with what Todd has said himself, makes it clear he isn’t Satoshi Nakamoto.
