Hi guys. The recent drop of the second generation of reddit avatar NFTs and the meteoric uptrend in trading volume for reddit avatar NFTs has raised a concern in my mind
Not only are there millions of dollars of NFTs on reddit user vaults.
But we also have millions of dollars of community tokens such as moons as well (not to mention some ETH for all those lovely people to actually tip)
That being said, we have all heard of scams, and phishing exploits on our fellow redditors. With this growing value of digital assets in our vaults, we NEED additional security. And I think it's ridiculous that we don't already have 2FA implemented.
If anyone loses access to their vault recovery seed phrase, they're as good as screwed. But equally, if someone else gains access to your vault, you're just as screwed.
Let's also not forget to mention that hackers going after digital assets is on a meteoric rise as well in recent times. It's just a matter of time before they set their sights on reddit vaults, and naive redditors. Especially given the surge in attention that reddit has gotten itself in the crypto / NFT space recently
Stay safe guys. And don't forget to back up those seed phrases!
Lots of love
