Worried about self custody

I am a 56 yo farmer in Australia, an unlikely BTC hodler who miraculously taught myself how to use a hard wallet 4 yrs ago. I was forced to learn under adrenaline fuelled pressure, following a tip off from an insider that the exchange I was using was in trouble. Fortunately I had already purchased a Trezor (sat on desk as I was too apprehensive to use it) and was able to withdraw BTC from the exchange quickly. Problem now is, I don’t entirely trust tech (in general) and worry that technical failure ie. wallet malfunction is going to bring me unstuck in the future. I have my seed phrase but can’t get my head around those 12 words saving the day if the physical wallet fails???? I don’t know any other Bitcoiners to discuss this with. Can you reassure me that my setup is full proof!
