Would cryptocurrency be better off without any altcoins?

If only BTC existed, would it be far more beneficial to crypto?

BTC is by far the least volatile. In the last two years, it seems that there have been some many scams and shitcoins that have plagued the community. While many ‘shitcoins’ have rugged investors for thousands, even the most well known projects have continued to fail and leave investors penniless.

Whether it be hacks, losing a peg, upgrading to V2, bad tokenomics, or just downright draining the LP, most if not all altcoins seem fairly unsafe.

However, if people couldn’t gamble on alts, I truly wonder how many people would still even care. Would this sub have way less subscribers? Probably. Would cryptocurrency still have made a big wave into mass adoption without degenerates wanting to 10x there money on insert coin it’s a good question
