This is purely a hypothetical, and I ask this because it’s a thought exercise I’ve been trying to grapple with myself…
I love Bitcoin, most of my liquid net worth is tied to it and I even run a node to support the network. Over the years I have had a general distaste for most of the “crypto” world as I see 99% of projects out there as scammy junk.
That said, I am always seeking to challenge my own biases to make sure my judgement and opinions are sound, and so I wanted to pose this question to you all as I’m trying to grapple with this question myself.
Bitcoin, for all of its greatness, struggles with scalability. Layer 2s such as the Lightning Network are helping to address this, but it still bugs me as a legitimate criticism of the technology. It’s a minor gripe considering all of the good that comes with BTC, but it’s a still something to contend with.
I have been wondering to myself if I am simply buying into Bitcoin maximalism, or if I would be willing to actually recognize a better solution if it came into existence (I’m not certain that this is possible, I’m speaking in a hypothetical sense).
So I ask you all, if you analyze your own personality, would you be willing to recognize a “Bitcoin 2.0” and accept it as a better solution?
If I’m honest with myself I am not 100% sure that I would be able to, but I wonder what the split of opinions will be here.
