XRP price stability

I’ve held a decent size bag or XRP for quite some time. Been through the highs and lows. I understand the SEC and court cases and the uncertainties surrounding that. With all that said, I still don’t see how there is basically no volatility. Seems like no matter what gets locked up, it never affects the price materially. Just curious if this is by design or is there a legitimate scenario where there will be a nice lift to the upside. Patience and wearing thin and this is when I typically make dumb decisions.
