Yet Another DCA Question Post

So I want to DCA ETH for awhile to see how I like it. I do not want to pay a buck fifty + gas to Coinbase every week on a $25 weekly “investment.” I’ve been searching, reading and watching and haven’t found anyone who wants to do this same thing, somehow? It must be that everyone doing this is just investing way, way more than I am and doesn’t care about the cost of entry. I’ve also looked into using L2s for the first time and despite reading through pages of jargon, I still don’t understand some basic things about how they work.

I want to DCA ETH as inexpensively as possible, but also with as little complexity as possible. I know that is against the whole ethos of crypto, but there we are. For this experiment, I’m using Coinbase on on-ramp from FIAT, my wallet is Metamask and I’d like to stake the DCA’d ETH on RocketPool.

The steps I’m planning look like this:

1) Buy $100 USDC on Coinbase with linked bank account (no fee buys of USDC!)

2) Send USDC to Metamask on Arbitrum

3) Connect Metamask to Mean.Finance

4) On M.F, create a USDC to ETH weekly swap @ $25 for 4 weeks on “Arbitrum One”

5) ?

6) Profit (?)

How does that look? What am I missing?

*IF* all that works, will the ETH just be in the ETH portion of my Metamask wallet? Can I then stake it monthly (or whenever) on RocketPool the way I did back when I staked my almost-one-ETH back a year ago or whenever? Is it going to show up differently somehow because of the Arbitrum L2 Network and be functionally incompatible, like two kinds of ETH on two networks?

I’ve read some about just buying rETH on some OTHER exchange, and while I’m open to the concept, I still want to see it all in the same place at the end of the chain, if that makes sense.

TLDR: I can’t believe there’s no demand for weekly $25 (or some other super-low amount) Fiat-to-ETH DCA option with reasonable fees, and thus no support for such a thing. What a world.
