YSK: 99% of web3 has a single censorship prone bottleneck - WalletConnect

Although we all love the idea of a decentralised world , pretty much every project is using WalletConnect.

Now while I politically agree with their censorship of some applications/IP address ranges it still remains an ever looming reminder that if tomorrow they decided to delete their whitelist or inversely blacklist 0.0.0.0/0 almost all dApps would come to a standstill.

Although WalletConnect is opensource , you need to remain cognisant of

• It's not an open standard protocol
• They control what is supported by each chain
• They can effectively play kingmaker by restricting access
