Now I no doubt have your attention. Striking numbers if you compare this to the sentiment here on this sub. This is a good reminder to expand your horizons beyond this forum as well. Here, due to the lure of Moons, we are often a circle jerking bunch where 1 particular opinion keeps getting repeated because it feels the most "popular" and is likely to get the most upvotes. The reason I bring up this statistic is also because there is now a post on the front page about the % of US that owns crypto, also there I saw that the most popular comments are just random criticisms of the article without effectively looking at the sources. The statistic about regulation also comes from a survey by Morning Consult, the same company, but their own independent research (not commissioned by Coinbase). Morning Consult is a reputable company that does research on an independent basis, they use correct methodology and provide representative figures. I don't work for Morning Consult , but I have been a market researcher myself for 13 years for a reputable agency and it irritates me to no end when a decent survey is taken down just because it produces easy upvotes. More than 4,000 Americans were surveyed for the study and the results were reweighted to the average profile. 4000 respondents is more than enough to make a 95% reliable statement about all Americans. Don't believe everything you read on the Internet, but definitely don't believe everything you read on Reddit either. We are too often an echo chamber here. But aside from that, remarkable how high the demand for regulation is within the general public. Regulate, don't control. [link] [comments] |
