BTC breaking price barriers at large round numbers induces some media hype and FOMO buyers, so I thought I would check out how alt coin prices that are currently in the top 20 have changed since the last time BTC broke and held 40k.
ETH then: $1614, now $2275. ⬆️41%.
BNB then: $68, now $312. ⬆️359%.
ADA then: $0.66, now $1.28. ⬆️94%.
XRP then: $0.41, now $0.71. ⬆️73%.
DOGE then: $0.08, now $0.20 ⬆️150%.
DOT then: $20, now $14.5 ????28%.
UNI then: $19.7, now 18.8 ????5%.
BCH then: $445, now $505⬆️13%.
LTC then: $151, now $137????10%.
LINK then: $24.7, now 19.1????23%.
SOL then $6.7, now $28.2⬆️321%.
MATIC then: $0.07, now $1.02⬆️1357%.
XLM then: $0.38, now $0.27????41%.
ETC then: $8.3, now $48.9⬆️489%.
THETA then: $2.3, now. $5.8⬆️=152%.
Obviously this is a bit biased since it is current top 20 and doesn't include the top 20 of Feb 6, which would have had: AAVE(#14-->#28), BSV(#17-->#42), EOS(#18--> #29), ATOM(#19-->#40), and XEM (#20-->#60).
I will leave the analysis of this up to y'all, but hopefully this gives some interesting perspective of how alts do during a dip/crash, especially for anyone who might be just starting to build their portfolio.
Good luck out there!
