A few reasons why the upcoming Reddit World Cup Avatars will be very exciting:

As we are further nearing the World Cup 2022 in the controversial Qatar right now, all eyes are on Reddit to launch their third Generation of NFTs which will be based on the World Cup. Especially after the blow-off success of the second generation and all of those selling out in just 24 hours, here is some information we already know about the Gen 3: (some is just leaked information so take it with a grain of salt.)

• collection will be called something like “Reddit Cup“
• will be based on all 20 teams of the world cup
• not similar to existing NFTs (maybe different artist)
• not known whether it will be a free airdrop or on sale
• meant to release either this week or next (very unlikely as there had also been rumors that it will be released in the first week of November.

So why will these be very exciting to watch? Simply because releasing NFTs of seperate teams during a competition tournament will set them up to be kind of pieces used for “competition“ and fun betting between us people here on reddit. Just imagine you got an Avatar for France and I have one from Germany and both teams are in the final now, that would not only drive the value higher but also make reddit one of a primary places to discuss those matches and who we think will win based on our Avatars.

All in all: The most exciting part is still that the World Cup itself and each match could be a primary driver for the prices and the world cups being a month will surely keep those NFTs in the eye of hype for a lot longer than previous collections.
