A proposal to move self-story posts to their own thread

Like many of you, I love this community for it's vast source of all information on crypto. It's not too cultish like other crypto subs and the general sense of help that the community gives is unique in its own. It's my daily escape to indulge in a hobby that I don't share with too many friends. I've only been an avid reader/lurker here for the last few months but I truly do thank the community for all I've learned in that time.

Lately, I've noticed a slight decline in the quality of posts that make it to the front page. More and more posts about users simply buying into crypto and letting others know about it, and then commenters coming to cheer them on. Don't get me wrong, I love that more and more people are DCA'ing and stacking their bags, but maybe there should be a limit on how many of these posts make it to the front page in a given week or time period. I'm not at all trying to gatekeep or put others down for their investment choices, but maybe it would be a net positive if we focused on promoting actual news and crypto talk instead of "I bought $20 of [INSERT COIN HERE]".

That being said, I still think there's a place for these humble brags. The Daily Discussion thread is already a stickied discussion and would be a perfect place for these sorts of posts. If we were to enforce users posting their latest pickup in that thread as opposed to dedicated text posts, I believe we would see a decent boost in the quality of front page content, much like how memes are no longer allowed their own Image Post.
