Put my life savings into Bitcoin in 2012.
Lived off my bitcoin for years and then got into trading to try and make back what I sold.
I lost 90% of my stack spot and marging trading.
A long time friend randomly contacted me and asked me to trade for him. I used the 4 BTC he gave me and made back 10% of my original 2012 stack.
I kept trading and lost 90% of my stack again. I decided to stop margin trading and bought spot positions in strong altcoins, which I sat on for most of the 2020/2021 bull market. I sold and made back 20% of my original 2012 stack.
Fell back into margin trading and lost 70% of that stack.
October 2021 rolls around and I start to see the signs of markets faultering around the world. I sell all my crypto and take heavy margin short positions in bitcoin and alts. I ride the dump all the way down to $20k.
After it was all said and done I have made back around 60% of my original 2012 stack.
I no longer trade, I put my coins in cold storage and I will now enjoy my life.
If I could go back I would have just stacked and hodl'd, nothing was worth the stress I went though.
My story is one of the rare ones. Most who get into trading will end up with nothing.
Stay humble and stack sats, dont be greedy. Time in the market is better than timing the market.
