of brantly's 4 roles, ens protocol allowed for decentralized handling of 2 following incident: delegate, and community wg steward

narrative is steward removal was "community-led"

administrative info surrounding steward removal ????

true names limited (tnl) is “the nonprofit that funds and organises development on ensdomains”

brantly was a core team member of true names limited, and as such, one of two unnominated, core team stewards selected to foundational “community working group” established within ens dao (5 total: spencecoin, coltron.eth, limes, validator.eth)

on 02.04.2022, community wg “focus and intent” was drafted by spencecoin: “foster the growth of a thriving ens community…strengthen relationships between those passionate about ens in real life, the metaverse, and anywhere in between.”

on 02.05.2022, 6:02 pm pst, brantly tweeted, “hey looks like i’ve got my first mob” after a personal tweet from 2016 resurfaced that offended, concerned many .eth, $ens tokenholders

on 02.06.2022, 11:03 pm pst, nicksdjohnson tweeted that tnl “...has terminated the contract of brantly millegan effective today.”

ref governance proposal ep4 specification 9.1.5: “any steward selected by tnl…can be removed by tnl at any time prior to the end of a term, for any reason, and replaced by another core team member…”

on 02.06.2022, 12:52 pm pst, community wg stewards were “called upon” by coltron_eth to participate in a poll regarding brantly’s removal, where ep4 specification 9.1.2 was cited as removal method: “a simple indicative majority vote among the stewards of a given working group, with the outcome of the vote communicated in the relevant working group category of the ens governance forum”

ep4 specification 9.1.1 cites another method for steward removal: “a social proposal passed by the dao”

ref ens documentation: a social proposal “asks for the agreement of the dao on something that cannot be enforced onchain” and has “a quorum requirement of 1% and require a minimum approval of 50% to pass”

on 02.06.2022, 1:55 pm pst, majority was reached via poll to remove brantly as steward; linked to results was new governance forum thread by blockchainjames, “ens dao next steps re: brantly”
