Any crypto swing traders out there?

Been in a crypto game a long while and have been dabbling in some test swing trades using coinmarketcap. The volatility of crypto really is appealing for a swing trader. I've identified a few coins that would be fairly good to start swing trading (regularly swing 5-8%). With $1000 starting I've been able to build a decent return when things are moving sideways. Any advice from people actively swing trading? Do you trade during the bull run? It seems like the bear market would be a little safer as its more stable sideways action at the bottom. Any tips for someone looking to deploy some profits? Obviously I'm well aware of the risks and willing to lose what I put in. Anyone start with $1000? Where does your trading portfolio sit now?
