I was able to buy SOME put options on LedgerX before the crypto market crashed (in April). However, the bid ask spreads are quite large and there is low liquidity, so I got horrible prices and in low volume.
I know that most of the options volume goes through Derebit, but they do not allow investors who are either US citizens or are based in the US (they require KYC, so a VPN would not be able to get around this).
I'm wondering: As a US investor, where do you buy options?
Some ideas I had:
Find a decentralized exchange with the highest volume (that doesn't ban US investors) and just trade there
Use the CME exchange, as they seem to have around 3.5x open interest as LedgerX
