As long as it's possible for us to earn “free” crypto, it's proof we're still early.

It's pretty much impossible to earn free FIAT without some catch, and it's usually a very negligible amount that is earned. That is because it is an established and very highly valued currency, that no one will give for free for no reason or catch.

With crypto, on the other hand, we can still earn it for “free” or at least for a better “catch”. For reference, the community tokens here is a great example, you just engage in a community actively and earn free crypto, which is not even negligible amounts.

Also, there was and still are many faucets that give you small bits of crypto, games that earn you crypto, and sites that let anyone earn crypto for their blogs (with little to no application or need for prior experience), etc.

in my opinion, this is the case for multiple reasons:

• Crypto is still not as established, and giving away free crypto is a sort of “investment” that will drive future adoption and make cryptos as a whole worth more
• it is easier to give away due to lesser regulations and rules.

So all this in my opinion proves we're still early to crypto as a whole, because when it's fully established and adopted, earning crypto will be much harder, as it will be valued by each holder much more to give it away for no significant catch.
