These schemes included policies like banning pesticides in 2019 to move completely to organic farming. This resulted in over 30% of the country's crop production being halted completely, and for an agrarian economy this is like putting a bag over its head
These corrupt politicians in cahoots with IMF/WEF etc even sold Sri Lanka's ports, airfields and parts of the country to China
As long as corrupt politicians get funded by IMF backed fiat cartels, this will keep happening time and again to developing countries where these corrupt organisations are ready to experiment with people's lives and livelihood/ The protestors will remove this corrupt family for now, but someone else will step in eager to accept loans and funding from IMF. At the end of the day, no one will hold these corrupt organisations accountable for the scale of destruction they have caused across the world.
