On April 9th The New York Times published the piece The real world cost of the digital race for bitcoin which many considered a hit piece. The summary of the article is that bitcoin mining uses mostly fossil fuels and is horrible for the environment. Bitcoin Maxis decided they were not going to take this accusations sitting down and formed a plan to fight fire with fire, they started looking into how much environmental damage the New York Times itself actually does. I must warn you that the images you are about to see are gruesome and not for the faint of heart.
