The current state of nfts like all things in crypto is reminiscent of the early internet.
One of the biggest websites in the world was about fucking beanie babies. A lot of people think that most nft projects are destined to go that way as well.
But don't throw the baby out with the bath water. Imagine if every mp3 or movie, or ebook or digital download video game could be resold when you wanted to get rid of it.
It's game changing. Everyone complains they don't actually own their digital media, nfts would let you do just that, but people are too pissed off that they didn't buy a picture of monkey that would have let them retire to recognize that the tech is overwhelmingly likely to shape the future.
I personally think itunes and Amazon are dragging their feet as long as possible tomorrow to adoption of the tech because it will inevitably eat into their bottom line, when people can choose to legally sell their digital media on the open market and not just via torrents and bootlegs.
