Buying my first cold wallet

All Cryptocurrencies

by COINS NEWS 100 Views

After playing around with hot wallets and learning how to send my crypto from exchanges to wallets such as MetaMask, Phantom, and Base, I would love to get into cold wallets. Money is not much of an issue for me knowing that cold wallets is the most secure way to store your crypto.

I was looking into either getting a Ledger or a Trezor and from what I found is that Ledger has been highly trusted and supports many coins, way more than Trezor, however, it has some recent controversy with uploading your seed to a cloud and the closed source nature of Ledger (as well as the hack that happened roughly a year ago). While Trezor on the other hand does not support as many cryptos but is adorn by most due to its open source code and security.

I was hoping to get some user experience on these as YouTube reviews and online articles can only tell you so much. I was searching through the crypto sub for cold wallet recommendations and many posts are months old. I know a lot can change in a few months (as we have seen with the prices of crypto) and was hoping to get some insight on these two wallets from user experience, or any other good options out there. All is appreciated! (Should mention I am from the US and use Coinbase. Also I was looking to get the Trezor Model T)
