Couple Tidbits of Advice to a First-timer?

Hey all -

I am kinda brand new to the Crypto investing world and just looking for some nuggets of advice to get rolling. It wasn't even really my idea; my 'boomer father has never once been interested in anything even remotely tech/digital related, so when he asked me to invest and monitor a little chunk of his spare cash into the Cryptocurrency world for him, I enthusiastically agreed. I am currently self-employed, so I can be on my phone/laptop at pretty much anytime if need be, in case there is something I would need to move on at the drop of a hat. I am aware of the basics of how it works and all that...but if there are some best practices that seem to work well for your experiences, I'd love to hear them.
