Crypto projects need to move away from GitHub. We need a decentralized Git-based open source hosting hub, and we need one now.

There is a bit of an irony in all these decentralized crypto projects hosting and relying on a centralized platform like GitHub to host all the source code repositories. While it may have been an ok solution in the past, since Microsoft bought GitHub in 2018 GitHub can no longer be counted on as impartial. The most recent evidence of this being the recent takedown of all Tornado Cash repositories.

It seems the space is in dire need of a decentralized Git-based hosting solution, so that these decentralized projects don't all have a centralized point of failure in the hosting and organization of their codebase and developer collaboration.

Is anyone aware of any projects that are aiming to start a Git-based open source coding hub for developer collaboration on a decentralized cloud? There are several decentralized cloud hosting projects going right now, such as Filecoin, Arweave, Flux, Sia, and ICP... as well as baseline non-affiliated IPFS protocol. It seems there is a strong need and opportunity here to better secure the decentralized future of crypto by ensuring hosting of the codebase itself resides on a decentralized platform.
