Crypto.com end of year review

Hey Cromies,

To end the year I wanted to share a little bit about my journey with crypto.com. You may have seen some of my posts or comments throughout the last six months. Some goals I had that were reached and some that were not.

I originally bought CRO in July after hearing about the UFC connection. I originally thought, this will be a nice quick flip and double my money. Sports fans love a gamble, they will love CRO and crypto on general.

I joined the CRO and Cryptocom subs and started learning more about the ecosystem and especially the visa. My original CRO did pump, not double like I had hoped but enough that I said fuck it and got the ruby visa card. I did a little smooth brain math and thought this could be a really good way to earn some passive income. I knew those rebates from purchases would return my investment in just a few months based on my monthly spending. I used my digital card to pay my cell phone bill and earned 15.5 CRO.

While waiting on the physical card to arrive, I was still active in the subs, learning and helping others onboard. I had put Matic, USDC, and a couple others into the EARN program getting various % rates back. My smooth brain went back to work and said why aren't we getting a jade card? Better interest paid on EARN and returns for staking, the extra percent rebates on purchases and rebated Netflix.

At this point I came up with the card stake would return about $400 if the price didn't tank. Netflix and Spotify (services I used already) would return me another $324. I figured on a bare minimum spending of 20k would return $600 in my 3% rebates. Grand totalling 33% of a 4k investment. I was comfortable at 25% with the risk. My ruby card arrived in the first week of August, and I fomo'd into jade 7 days later.

I didnt calculate into my returns the 12-13% back I get staking those returns in defi or the additional pumps to the coins I have in EARN. I bought some additional CRO to send into defi to stake and to LP pools in osmosis. I had created a few new goals.

Can I get to 40k CRO coins before New Years? If this hits $1.00 I can stake for the ICY card. I didnt want to buy anymore CRO, as I wanted to diversify among other coins. Would it get there organically? The smooth brain math said it would be really close. The other goal was can I hit $50 a week in returns in just the Crypto.com eco system?

Then that beautiful bastard Matt Damon happened. CRO shot up from the high teens-mid .20s to nearly a dollar! This made one of my goals happen with extreme ease, but made the other look not so possible. CRO alone has reached the $50 in passive a week, but 40k looked to be out of reach organically. My first Netflix rebate was over 90 CRO in August, December? Just 24. So spoiler, I fell a couple thousand CRO short of my 40k goal which is a bummer.

The Matt Damon and fortune favors the brave campaign did wonders for the coin. The cronos chain was released and the renaming the Staples Center have all helped CRO increase. The subs became a bit less tolerable as moonbois arrived and started all of their rally cries and chants. After losing a lot of money in May with shitcoins, I have drifted away from Reddit, but miss many of the wonderful helpful friends I made in the CRO related subs. You guys are great!

I started spending more time on Twitter (which isn't much better) and learning more about NFTs. Well our guys at crypto.com are killing it over there too. The Loaded Lions, psycho kitties, and many others on the cronos chain are moving and making fast money. I thought crypto moved fast for the investment world, NFTs are a whole new ballgame!

End of the year, I'm a pretty happy customer. So far its been my biggest win in crypto.

Tldr: the crypto.com engine is dope if you can get it running for you. In 5 months I have earned back $854 in rebates (not including Netflix and spotify).

A full year in the system will be exciting. I wish you all the best for 2022!
