Deepfakes scams are growing. Surely blockchain can help prevent this and should be being utilised more?

The number and volume of deepfake scams are growing. Ultimately it's big tech that's responsible for many of them by allowing them to flourish on their platforms. Although there's been much talk of taking action progress has been slow.

Often there's scams take advantage of celebrities and public figures without their permission. This is damaging to the individuals reputations (even though they are completely innocent) and this is also can be damaging to the reputation of crypto that's also often referred to. The frustrating thing is one of the greatest strengths of blockchain is validate and verify.

Here's the thinking....

Coinbase has an initiative called "Stand with Crypto" described as a "non-profit organization dedicated to uniting global crypto advocates".

It would be great to see someone or a company start another similar organization maybe something like... "Verify with crypto".

How it could work...

All public figures/ celebrities would adopt a single public receive address which could be verified/ validated as belonging to them. It would be portable and used to authenticate their public appearances. For example they could wear it as a badge, t-shirt, hat etc or could be hard edited in to the video. It would need to either be a verifiable short URL or alpha numeric address something easily distinguishable that's hard to fake. A receive address that becomes just as well known/ associated with the public figure/ celebrity.

The recieve address would also act as a quick donation link to a "Verify with Crypto" wallet where any crypto received could be used to help fight victims and drive awareness of online scams.

I think this works help embolden the reputation of celebrities and crypto often having their reputations trashed at no fault of their own.

Just a really rough concept and would be great to get some positive thoughts/ ideas on how this could work?
