Discussion - Why Solana?

Dear CC,

I follow this sub since about 3 years now and first I wanna thank you all for the great informations, discussions and so on... It's a nice community to have in the crypto space!

Since Solana was first mentioned, I followed it's price and the technical development und there are so many things about Solana I can't even understand.

Why is Solana so hyped? What is driving the price so massively? There are so many bad things going on on this chain. Other Layer1 project are much better in any direction: Cheaper, faster and more secure transactions. Limited supply. Better development in general. No lies. Quantum security. And on and on and on...

Problems with Solana: - centralization / lack of validator clients - failed or incomplete transaction - regular Network outages - the team behind Solana was lying about supply and had a hidden wallet - there is an infinite supply of Solana tokens - inflation to infinity .... ....

....

....

All thinks you don't want on your Blockchain. All reasons against the philosophy of Blockchain itself.

What the fu** is going on? Is Solana like a "try hard shit-tech-gamble-meme-coin"? Is Solana just a scam? Why are all these people falling to invest in it?

Please tell me! Maybe I'm wrong...

Why not just use the chain that does exactly what blockchain tech was made to do in the first place, and which does it better than (literally) every other chain? (Algorand)

Edit: Sorry this shouldn't be an Algorand chill. It's just for example. There are more other good L1 projects.
