Edit transaction priority in Metamask when using hardware wallet

I want to move ETH into Arbitrum when gas prices are low. I know how to edit the priority of the transaction in MetaMask. Is it possible to do this with a hardware wallet that is linked to MetaMask? I imagine you would at least need to keep your hardware wallet connected to your computer while you are waiting for the gas price to go low enough to execute.
