Hi! I'm pretty new to crypto. First post in r/Ethereum. I'm wondering about ENS names like .ETH addresses.
This is what I believe I have understood, but I might be wrong: A. ENS names are a short, clean, version of your longer a dress that can send or receive money. B. One could have a website like myname.eth that is accessible from a regular old pc and internet browser.
Please let me know if this is correct. I'll ask a few questions based on this:
- If I own myname.com already, can I simply connect it to myname.eth without paying fees?
- If I purchase myname.eth, can someone else purchase myname.me and use that as a connection to their own account to receive money?
- Where does the fees go? Gas goes to miners and stuff, but the yearly fees goes to developing Ethereum?
Thanks!
