This is the second post of the series of posts about the Ethereum Founders and it will be focused on Jeffrey Wilcke. I hope you enjoy the reading and if you have tips to improve, feel free to tell me so that I can do better in the next post. Jeffrey Wilcke
Who is he and how he got in Ethereum?Jeffrey Wilcke was one of the core contributors during Ethereumβs early stage of development. He became a co-founder as a result of his programming contributions. He was in the Netherlands working on MasterCoin, the first ICO, when he discovered Ethereum. He also began writing Google Goβs version of the platform quietly. He joined the ETH founders in early 2014 RoleJeff basically was part of the developer team and begun his software implementation, which was later renamed Go Ethereum, and then simplified to "Geth2. Funny thing is that at the same time another ETH founder was creating his version on C++ but both didn't know about the other project. Having two implementations later turned out to be fortuitous: there would always be a backup. W Working with Vitalik and Gavin Why he left Ethereum? After the controversial hard fork, multiple hacks and the birth of his son, he decided to hand the supervision of Geth to his right hand man Peter Szilagyi. At the end of that year, he talked (https://twitter.com/jeffehh/status/1210274147449888768) about the frustrations that had caused him to quit. After EthereumCurrently Jeff works with his brother Joey and has a development studio, Grid Games. Website: http://grid-games.com/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/GridGames_HQ [link] [comments] |
