Ethereum hacker behind $625 million hack starts sending out the money

Last week, it was reported that the bridge on Ronin Network, on which the famous blockchain game Axie Infinity is built, among others, was hacked. As much as $625 million was looted and the hope that the hacker will return some of this seems to be getting smaller by the day. Especially now that the hacker seems to be funneling the loot even further away.

Hacker sends ethereum to mixer

Chinese crypto journalist Colin Wu noticed that the wallet linked to the hack has started sending the stolen crypto. Looking at the data on the blockchain explorer, we indeed see a large number of transactions from the wallet.

The worrisome thing is that the Ethereum (ETH) transactions, each one the size of 100 ETH, are sent to Tornado Cash. This is a so-called mixer that ensures that the traces of transactions on the blockchain are erased. So, anyway, it seems that the hacker has no intention of returning the loot. This still sometimes wants to happen after a deal is made, but not now.

Ethereum hack went unnoticed for a long time

Perhaps the strangest thing about this story, which seems to be turning into the biggest successful crypto hack ever, is that it went unnoticed for a long time.
