Ethereum has been such a good investment, that despite almost a year of market carnage of biblical proportions, I'm still up

I was one of those "retail investors" who showed up at the start of 2021. No one told me about Ethereum, or even told me to get into Crypto, but I always believed in Bitcoin and the hubub of 2020 finally caught my attention, and investment.

It was that transient moment where Bitcoin had just rocketed towards 40k for the first time, and Ether was clocking in at $1250. I looked into what it offered, and how incredible the idea of smart contracts was, even if they were neither smart nor contracts. Forsaking Bitcoin, I jumped into Ethereum and bought it up to $1700ish, where it crashed all the way back to 900. I was floored then, to say the least, let alone what we've experienced since then. It then over a short bit went all the way to 4k, and I was already up 4x! Crypto was the best, and Ethereum was the best invention since the internet!

Now we are here, perhaps about to lose 2k as support, falling back through the teens to eventually swallow even my most initial of investments. Many coins are dead, and never going to rise again, and many stocks of legitimate big name companies tell the same tale. Yet even in the bloodiest of markets, Ethereum held its ground, always hoping for that final swan song to take us to the moon. Even should that not come to pass for some time, it is the only asset in any of my portfolios to not be underwater yet. By all accounts, it's been a very strong asset.
