Everyone is a genius in a bull market, so everyone is stupid in a bear market?

In a bull market the saying goes that everyone is a genius. It takes literally no effort to buy a a coin and experience big returns. You may think you are buying the next Ethereum, bitcoin ot something that will rule them all. That's a thing of the bull market.

So how about bear markets? Is everyone stupid for buying anything? Or are we are we all blind to the things we should buy? What is the opposite of the "being a genius" during the bear market?

And, maybe more importantly, what is the genius play right now?

Probably, the most boring answer herr is to find solid, legitimate projects, stick to the blue chips mostly, and stay away from all those influencers that claim to have found the next moonshots.

And yes, boring investments are usually the ones most profitable in the end. All the other big pumps and dumps require luck.

Better be the genius now and called the "stupid" in the bull market later. Being different is better, I guess.
