Freelancers, do you accept crypto as payment? Why or why not?

All Cryptocurrencies

I'm a freelance graphic designer who has been involved in a number of projects where the clients paid me in crypto. For me I feel it's important to diversify my income revenues and have a wider client base as a freelancer, which was my reasoning for accepting crypto in the first place.

Also, if I have the discipline to hodl for some time and the price of that coin rises, then I stand to earn more than the amount I received at the end of a project.

At the same time, that coin might drop in price, so that $300 I received might turn into $100 or even less over time.

Of course, with so many scammers in the space, one has to be extra diligent when picking and choosing projects. I always make it a point to collect a deposit before starting any work, and fortunately I was able to work with trustworthy clients over the years.

Curious to hear from other freelancers on whether you accept crypto as payment, and your reasons for deciding to either do or not do so.
