Hi there,
i am a bit shaken at the moment and feel stupid as well, but this is more or less a warning for everyone out there.
Maybe someone can provide some guidance on what to do from here - but in general i consider the funds lost. Are there services i could contact? I live in SEA, so going to a Police Station is (probably) not an option.
For the Pros, this is the tx ID:

I could see Binance pop up - but unsure if this helps ... please let me know.
Storytime ... for everyone interested and not just to make fun of another "victim".
I have my Crypto diversified on different exchanges but always felt it is safer to have the majority on a Nano Ledger S (First generation).
The Ledger was in my safe deposit box for more than 2 years and was just sitting there. The wallet words were written down that same time encrypted with PGP hidden in a text from a book page and uploaded to LastPass. (double encrypted and hidden)
For reference i had the original page printed out (without the seedphrase), so to find the seedphrase, you first would have to know that this book has the Seed it in there and then compare the two texts to rebuild it. The PGP Key itself was protected by a password.
So this worked well and i was never hacked.
So, on 15th July i somehow thought it would be a good idea to check on the Ledger. It did not connect to my computer, was not recognized, so i went through the process of updating it.
The funds showed in Ledger Live - great.
Since i was not sure about the recovery phrase, i downloaded the tool to check the seed phrase and punched it in (on the Ledger). It took time, but finally it showed the message i was looking for "Phrase is correct".
To do this process, all i did was opening the "book" on my computer in LastPass, used PGP to decrypt it and compared it against the page i had printed.
I run Avast Antivirus as well ... so it is unlikely that i have had a Virus and in general i do not download dodgy stuff.
So, this is all I did.
22nd 5:05am ... All gone.
Today just a couple minutes ago, i opened my Ledger Live and was not happy.
Since i saw warnings about not updating etc. i feel that there is some truth in this.
I have read all the answers from previous cases and i do not think that anyone could have possibly figured this out this out and if so, why after the update. So there are only a couple of things that could have gone wrong.
a) I have a Virus and someone monitored my computer and saw me opening a protected book, figured it is a seedphrase and had a go at it. I think this is not really an option. Ususally seedphrases and Bitcoin Adresses are captured automatically by those trojans.
b) The firmware or the recover tool have an issue. We can rule out that the Ledger itself was compromised, since it had been sitting in there for years.
c) ???
I dont know what i did wrong to be honest - but i think awareness is key and if the firmware has an issue, people should know. I lost my retirement fund, but i am still not too old to work :)
Are there any companies to recommend tracking the funds? Or any help from the community?
Help greatly appreciated.
May your funds be SAFU ...
