Gavin Andresen updates blog: "it was a mistake to trust Craig Wright as much as I did"

In short: He was the dev chosen by Satoshi to take over bitcoin maintenance/development once Satoshi disappeared and was a pivotal figure/witness in Craig Wrights scam claiming to be Satoshi and just about the only legitimate person in the space who ever backed Craig Wright but that has since changed.

It appears that Gavin has now, finally, publicly renounced Craig Wright and his "test" that put claim to the Satoshi name on the actual blog post that initially backed Craig Wright.

As per this morning, Gavin updated his "Satoshi" blog post that explains the event surrounding Craig Wright showing "proof" that he is in fact Satoshi with a short and simple paragraph:

Feb 2023: I don’t believe in rewriting history, so I’m going to leave this post up. But in the seven years since I wrote it, a lot has happened, and I now know it was a mistake to trust Craig Wright as much as I did. I regret getting sucked into the “who is (or isn’t) Satoshi” game, and I refuse to play that game any more.

This is the new opening paragraph of his previous blog post which is in STARK contrast to the original:

I believe Craig Steven Wright is the person who invented Bitcoin.

I was flown to London to meet Dr. Wright a couple of weeks ago, after an initial email conversation convinced me that there was a very good chance he was the same person I’d communicated with in 2010 and early 2011. After spending time with him I am convinced beyond a reasonable doubt: Craig Wright is Satoshi.
