How do pools work?

Hello! I recently got interested in cryptocurrency, and I wanted to set up a basic miner to just test and learn how things work. So far I have:

• Used 'Coin Wallet' to create a wallet address
• Installed 'ethminer' (https://github.com/ethereum-mining/ethminer)

Ran ethminer with:

.\ethminer -P stratum1+tcp://MY_WALLET_ADDRESS@us-eth.2miners.com:2020 

This should connect to the pool from 2miners (https://eth.2miners.com/). On the site it says:

0.0005 ETH

Min. payout

However when checking Coin Wallet after a few hours of running the miner, the value is still 0 (despite there being 'blocks' found multiple times while my miner was running).

What am I missing?
