How does leverage work in Futures

Hey guys I am new to futures trading. I wanted to know how leverage, margin, and quantity works. When I tried to trade, the quantity was divided by the leverage. I'm assuming this is now called the margin? And this margin is the actual value being traded. So the leverage does not make sense anymore even if the profit is multiplied by leverage since the quantity was divided the leverage? (I hope I'm not confusing here)

Is there any way or trading where the quantity is not being divided by the leverage whilst still multiplying the profit by the leverage?. Thank you!
